About the course
We explore all aspects of Customs payment and related financial concepts and procedures, including Customs debt, guarantees and deferred payment. This includes situations where Customs debt may be incurred, the timing of duty payments and tracking the status of duty payments, including in the case of deferred payments.
What you learn
On successful completion of this topic, you will be able to independently handle standard and more complex situations involving Customs debt and guarantees. This includes having a broad understanding and detailed knowledge of the following concepts and systems and being able to apply and use this knowledge in your daily activities as a Customs professional:
You will gain a sound knowledge of the legislative provisions relating to Customs debt and guarantees, including the incurrence of a Customs debt, guarantees, extinguishment of a debt; and recovery, payment, repayment and remission of duty.
Customs Duties and other Payments
You will gain a sound knowledge and understanding of the processes and procedures relating to Customs duties, including a broad knowledge of the Customs duties that are required to be paid. You will understand the requirements relating to the timing of duty payments and tracking the status of duty payments, including in the case of deferred payments.
Customs Debt and Guarantees
You will gain a detailed knowledge and understanding of the processes and procedures relating to Customs debt and guarantees, including a knowledge of situations in which a Customs debt may be incurred. You will also be able to demonstrate an understanding of EU tariff and non-tariff measures to ensure the correct application of appropriate and correct duties or relief from duties.
